Princess in the Spotlight by Meg Cabot

This is the second book in The Princess Diaries series. It picks up where the first one left off. Mia finds out that her mother is pregnant with her algebra teacher's baby. They (her mother and Mr. G the teacher) decide to get married, and the rest of the book is spent in anticipation of their wedding. Meanwhile, Mia is trying to maintain a normal life while adjusting to the media attention she gets for being a princess. She also discovers she has secret admirer, and she desperately wants to know who it is.

Like the first book in the series, this was an entirely pleasure/escapist read. It reminds me how truly awkward those middle school and high school years were and helps me laugh instead of be completely horrified and embarrassed. It's also nice to enjoy something that helps me escape like this that's not television. Although, with as much reading as I've been doing lately, my eyes will surely get tired!
