Three Moons Over Milford

I recently watched the pilot episode of this series which will be premiering on ABC Family this fall. It had an interesting premise: An asteroid hit the moon and shattered it into three main pieces. As a result of the lunar change, people are acting really strange, especially when most are interpreting the event as a signal of the end times. The show takes place in the small southern Vermont town of Milford. Main characters include the town lawyer that doubles as a plumber and volunteer fireman, and the Davis family who owns the large computer business in town. Mrs. Davis is a nice enough woman who is clearly attracted to the lawyer. Mr. Davis has run off on a transcontinental journey to climb mountains after he already moved out of the house to a yurt and began practicing Buddhism. The two Davis children are in high school: the 16 year old son wants to get involved with a much older woman and the younger daughter burned down the high school trying to cast a spell to put the moon back together. The show was at times funny, and the acting and writing were not all that bad. Since I don't have cable or satellite anymore I can't say that I'll be watching this show anytime soon. And I don't think it'll become anything great either. It was amusing and not a total waste of time, though.
