Book 4 for 2005
Dr. Ruth's Pregnancy Guide for Couples: love sex and medical facts, by Dr. Ruth K. Westheimer and Amos Grünebaum, MD, FACOG; © 1999, 251 p., Routledge.
This book combines the typical pregnancy book (what happens during pregnancy) and a sex guide. It is helpful for first-time parents who may not fully realize how pregnancy will affect their sexual relationship. Even for those people who know to expect some changes, this book reassures the couple that there are safe ways to engage in sexual intercourse during all stages of pregnancy. It contains some illustrations, so it would be best to keep the book away from impressionable youngsters who aren't quite ready to know about the birds and bees. The advice on sexual intercourse during pregnancy is good, and not something you typically find in other pregnancy books. That would be the main reason to read this book. The other information about pregnancy did not seem outstanding or anything new that's not readily available in another source.
